Marla Russell
AVID Editor
Producer/Director/Writer

Marla Russell added her talents to the VCSvideo team in 1999.  Marla holds a degree in Broadcast Communication with a minor in Theater Arts from the University of Central Oklahoma.

First introduced to the world of video and film creation in 1980, Marla spent several years dividing her time and skills between professional and amateur theater and video production.  Opting to dedicate her full energies to the world of video, Marla joined forces with a video production company in Oklahoma City where, in her first year, she enjoyed a steady climb through the ranks from tape room technician to associate producer.

Next, Marla honed her writing skills and, after working side by side with other producers, began producing on her own.  Motivated to learn more, and missing the technical side of the business, she set her sites on mastering the AVID non-linear editing system.  Recently, Marla’s constant quest to raise the editing bar took her to Editors’ Retreat 2007, a five-day event exclusive to highly-experienced editors of film, TV and video.  With her combined writing, producing, directing, and editing skills, Marla truly knows how to realize a vision and take a program from concept to completion.
