What it is:
A video that is shown to potential donors or investors. It may combine an emotional element with dynamic visuals and sound. The video can incorporate interviews of people who have benefited, or those who have contributed. They usually run 10 minutes or less.
Who uses them? Nonprofit organizations, charities and other causes.
When they are shown: They can be shown at an event, sent in the mail, shown at a meeting or anywhere there is a potential donor.

INFOMERCIAL
What it is: A long-form commercial including samples or demonstrations of your product or service, client testimonials and product benefits. It is a broadcast or cable program that is usually a half hour in length.
Who uses them? Any company with a product to sell to the general population on a regional or national scale. Infomercials offer a great deal of product exposure versus cost for the right kind of products. A successful infomercial can make millions.
Where they are shown: On broadcast or cable television. |

POINT-OF-PURCHASE SALES VIDEO
What it is
: A video designed to be played in a store or at a trade show to sell a product or service.
Considerations: The video is usually played in a noisy and crowded situation, so it has to be able to grab viewers' interest as they walk by. It should be very visually interesting and designed to work with or without the sound since, based on the level of crowd noise, the sound may not even be able to be heard.
Where they are shown: In retail stores across the country and at trade shows. |

TV COMMERCIAL
What it is: Typically a 30 or 60 second spot intended for broadcast or cable television that promotes a product or service. A commercial may be shown locally, regionally, nationally, or internationally.
Who uses them? Companies whose target customers are likely to be watching.
How to make yours stand out: Be sure to use a company who is experienced in broadcast work. There are many technical and creative capabilities that are necessary for producing successful broadcast work. If the commercial is produced without this kind of expertise, you could be throwing your money away instead of making it. |
